Welcome to the memorial page for

Jacqueline B. Baguet

June 23, 2016

of Mount Lebanon, peacefully at home, on Thursday, June 23, 2016. A lifelong and loyal Pittsburgher who was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Duquesne University. Jacque taught first grade for many years in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, first at Boggs Avenue Elementary and then at Whittier School. Her students and their parents adored Jacque and many called her the best teacher they ever had. A longtime resident of Mt. Lebanon, Jacque was involved in numerous civic and political organizations and causes, including Music for Mt. Lebanon, KDKA Call to Action, Outreach Mt. Lebanon, Extended Day, Uptown Mt. Lebanon and many others. A Republican stalwart, Jacque devoted years and countless hours, working on behalf of the GOP, including serving as a state committee person, president of the Mt. Lebanon Council of Republican Women, Vice Chair of the Republican Committee of Mt. Lebanon and active involvement with the Republican Committee of Allegheny County. Jacque’s commitment to the GOP was grounded in her love of her country with determination to work towards electing people she believed shared that patriotism. Above all those activities, no role was more important to Jacque than that of Aunt. She was a devoted and loving aunt who provided her nieces and nephews with countless enrichment opportunities, help with school projects and the establishment of numerous family traditions. After the death of her brother Jay Baguet and sister Patricia Baguet Maykranz, Jacque was truly the glue that held the extended family together. She also was predeceased by her parents George and Ann (Chillcott) Baguet, a niece, Jill Maykranz and a nephew Todd Maykranz. She is survived by and will be terribly missed by 11 nieces and nephews; Jacqueline Maykranz Kraeutler, Timothy Maykranz Matheson, Mark Maykranz, Eric Maykranz, Amy Maykranz, Laurie Maykranz Freeman, Mollie Maykranz Suddath, Philip Baguet, Renee Baguet Criste, Celeste Baguet Yazvac and Gabrielle Baguet Al Kahtani; also survived by 18 great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great nieces and nephews; a very large and warm circle of friends and her 2 beloved cats Shelby and Elmo. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in Trinity Cathedral, 328 Sixth Avenue, Downtown Pittsburgh, Monday morning at 11 o’clock (Everyone Please Meet at Church). Interment will be private.
