Jeanne Fisher Meyer

Age 88, entered eternal life after a long and happy life, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday November 24, 2016. Jeanne loved her family, loved God, and taught her children well to look for the good in people and in life. She felt so fortunate to have spent over fifty years with her husband and best friend, Carl Meyer. Many years ago one of her toddler grandchildren called her "Happy Jeanne" instead of "Grandma Jeanne", giving her a special name that her children and grandchildren found so endearing that it became her name. She had a kind and loving heart, and her willingness to help a family member in need knew no bounds. She was the matriarch and center of a loving family of six children and seventeen grandchildren who loved nothing better than the annual family gatherings at Christmas and in the summer on Hilton Head. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend Carl F. Meyer; her brother, J. Robert Fisher; and her cherished grandson, Gregory McCurrie. She is survived by her six children, Michael (Yon) Meyer of Charleston, SC, Robert (Maribeth) Meyer of El Paso, TX, Mary Jeanne Cozma of Pgh., Dr. Kathleen Meyer (Harold) Dolan of Marshfield, WI, Barbara (Brian) McCurrie of Pgh., and Thomas Meyer of Nashville, TN; she is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Happy Jeanne, we miss you so much! Thanks for everything! Friends will be received at Laughlin Memorial Chapel 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. John Capistran Church on Monday at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, if desired, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to McGuire Memorial Foundation, (special education school) 2119 Mercer Rd. New Brighton, PA 15066.
