John J. Pecovish, Jr.

Age 72, of Upper St. Clair and originally from Castle Shannon, peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Beloved husband for 35 years of Donna (Talaji) Pecovish; devoted son of the late John J. and Helen Elizabeth (Schwartz) Pecovish; brother of Rosemarie (Mike) Stunkard, Virginia (Ron) Vigliotti, Marycarol (Chip) Knapp and Bettyann (Kent) Jones; also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was a proud 82nd Airborne Paratrooper and Sergeant in the Military Police. His motto was, “Airborne All the Way.” John was with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for 32 years serving at both SCI Pittsburgh and SCI Fayette County. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, Inc. 1008 Castle Shannon Boulevard, Castle Shannon, Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Anne Church, Friday morning at 9:30. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. If desired, memorials may be made to your favorite Veterans Organization.
