Arthur E. Schaeffer

80, of Bethel Park formerly of Castle Shannon, peacefully on Thursday January 21, 2016; son of the late Arthur G. and Gertrude P. Schaeffer; beloved husband of Joann Melani-Schaeffer and the late Barbara Ann Schaeffer; devoted father of Arthur G. Schaeffer (Kate), Geralynn  A. Learish (John) and Richard G. Schaeffer (Susan); loving grandfather of Margret and Samuel Schaeffer; Brandon, Stephanie, Melissa and Jacob Learish; Sara, Emily and Chloe Schaeffer; and the late Zachary Schaeffer; he will be dearly missed by his stepchildren, Jackie Umberger (Jeff), Judy Kirtley (Paul) and Tony Melani (Cindy) and their families. Art was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served as a 48 year member of the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Deptartment. Friends may call at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 1008 Castle Shannon Blvd., Castle Shannon on SUNDAY from 3-7PM.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anne Church Monday morning at 9:30. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Anne Cemetery.
