Virginia D. Rhyner

Age 95, a long time resident of Castle Shannon, peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2016.  Born on December 29, 1920 the daughter of late Elmer A. Rhyner & Katherine B. (Trussel) Rhyner;  sister of the late James E. Rhyner (Mary & Peg), Glenn A. Rhyner (Elizabeth surviving); aunt of Douglas Rhyner, James Rhyner, Janet Davin, Cathy Campbell (Kevin), Karen Krzywiecki (Jim), Stephen Rhyner and Dan Thias;  also survived by 8 great nieces and 4 great nephews.  Virginia was a member of the Baptist Home Auxiliary Board and Bell Choir; treasurer of Meals on Wheels; choir member and treasurer of Castle Shannon Methodist Church; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved playing cards, bingo, scrabble and sewing. Family plans no viewing.  A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of the Baptist Home 489 Castle Shannon Boulevard, Mount Lebanon, on Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2016 at 1:30.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baptist Home. “Always the Volunteer!”  Arrangements by LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL www.laughlinfuneralhome.com
