John M. Fehr

Age 66, of Mt. Lebanon on Saturday March 11, 2017. He was the son of the late Frank and Adele Fehr; beloved husband of Joyce Salls; dear father of Adam (Kristen) and the late Amy Fehr; brother of Maggie (Dave Hingston) Fehr, Linda (Gary) McHugh, Frank (Tom Rutkowski) Fehr; brother in law of Andrea (J.J.) Skidmore; uncle of Lisa, Stacie, Robert, Casey, Shannon and Rhiannon. Also survived by cousins and a wide circle of dear friends. 

John was a self-proclaimed “groovy guy” who loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He enjoyed cycling, playing guitar, feeding people, and most of all time with family and friends.  A retired counselor, he spent his time singing bedside with hospice, and volunteering for 412 Food Rescue and Global Links. Not only was he a great storyteller, he was also the subject of many a great story.  John will be remembered for his contagious laugh, ability to connect with others, and gentle spirit.

Family and friends are welcome at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Rd, Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held in Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church 416 W. North Ave. on Wednesday at 6pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to NAMI (www.nami.org) or AFSP (afsp.org).
